The reason Phuket became such a popular place for a holiday was due to the beautiful beaches, lush vegetation and wonderful weather coupled with the fragrant food and gentle Thai culture. The original lure of Phuket still holds true with Panwa. Panwa beach also known as Khao Khat remains largely untouched in comparison to other areas on the island that have seen a fair amount of development over the years.  Panwa beach remains a quiet beach with few commercial distractions and recognised as a truly tranquil spot in Phuket.

Visitors are repeatedly drawn to Panwa because of the perfect coastal views across Chalong Bay.   Panwa beach (Khao Khat) is a walking beach rather than a sunbathing and swimming beach. The sand is coarse and the water is too shallow for swimming. There are a few facilities on the beach which belong to a neighbouring hotel, however aside the natural beauty of the beach, there are limited other activities on offer unless you are a guest of the hotel.

Eating out in Panwa is always going to be quiet and relaxed.  For those who want simple Thai food, popular choices are the Secret Cove Bar and Restaurant or The Ship Inn.  Lanaipa Restaurant and the colonial style mansion, Panwa House, will satisfy even the most refined tastes.
