KAMALA BEACH

Kamala beach is quieter than the southern neighbours of Patong and Karon, and offers everything you may look for in a holiday destination.

Kamala beach is an absolutely stunning 2 kilometre long beach with plenty of space and beautiful clear water which is perfect for swimming. This beach is suitable for people of all ages including children due to the waters being shallow for about 100 metres. Depending on whom you are there with or what you are after, there are different areas of the beach to explore. To the north of the beach, you’ll find it peaceful and much quieter than the busier more central area of this long stretch of beach. There are plenty of activities towards the centre of Kamala beach which is perfect for those who want to explore some water sports and get that adrenaline rushing!

Kamala beach is a smooth sandy beach, with clear waters surrounded by casuarinas and palm trees. It really is a truly picturesque location, and less crowded than other areas on the island. If you want to enjoy some food and drinks while on the beach, there are restaurants and a market close by where you can buy snacks and refreshments.  

Kamala beach is surrounded by forest land, resulting in a wonderful contrast between the light beige sand, the crystal clear water and the surrounding greenery. Along the beach walk you’ll find a variety of restaurants and bars overlooking the sunset on the Andaman Sea, creating the perfect setting for an unforgettable meal or cocktail. Behind the beach walk lies the centre of Kamala with a great range of shops and restaurants. Kamala is small and perfect for just taking a walk and exploring its character and charm. It’s a simply perfect place for those looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday in Phuket.

The relaxed and local feel of Kamala makes the tempo ideal for families or anyone looking for somewhere a little less busy in comparison to other areas such as Patong  which is more suited to those looking for lots to do and experience.  If you desire some days with a busier atmosphere and bustling nightlife, Patong is only a 15 minute drive away.
